It would be fine if it didn't start in early Oct.
12 days of it would be plenty and make it more special.
It's sickening and wrong how it's rammed down your throat for almost 3 months (a QUATER of a year) purely for commercial reasons
Love the atmosphere the week before and the during the week between Xmas and New Year when most are off work.

It's not seen as a religious thing nowadays by normal folk.
It's a day of keeping in touch with family/friends you maybe don't see very often, and making an effort to not be a cunt for a little while.

Prime amongst them are those who are adamant that "Christian values" are THE fundamental requirement for a good & just society to function, when, if you look around the world with open eyes (and mind), you will see exactly the same values (albeit with different labels) at play in EVERY successful society.
Organised religions simply hijacked those values as part of their divide & conquer strategy.

This is weird.
It's 7am, I'm up and ready to dispense gifts and good cheer, but now the kids are teenagers, they're still fast asleep! It's not like the 4am wake ups of a few years ago.
Oh and another good thing about Christmas is that my whole company closes down from 24th Dec to 4th Jan so NOBODY is at work filling up my inbox or devising new meetings for me to attend while I'm off.
All worth it for that alone..

Hey Im sorry for being a bit mean and over the top. Its Christmas let me just respond a bit nicer.
On this day of the year people should all be rethinking the fact that we in the civilized western world are a Christian society (which as a Christian society stood against Muslim invaders for centuries) and overtly anti religous directly people undermine that. Keep your paegan beliefs to yourself if you are of little/no faith and think you know everything.
Historical as well as spiritual justification for Christian people to be strong and stick together in these times. Its not only radical Islam that is a bit of problem the massive advances in technology particularly artificial intellegence and drones and all that is getting a bit too Terminator 2 for my liking. Hence further frustration/contempt for secularization or rather secular proselytizing.
Just a man of God though so I don't know everything.

You cunts are weird since you don't have Thanksgiving merely 3 weeks before so its a one off event and not 3 weeks of responsibilities a bit too close to each other.
I like Christmas but the holidays in general can combined end up being a bit much. THis year was lovely though and my 18 day ski holiday fell conveniently inbetween both and there was no need to work/travel for work close to the holidays to complicate shit I was ready to fly home on the 23rd. Some years things fall a bit differently and I can't make it home for both which can be depressing.
And what gank said.
